Elite 4-Star Lineman Places Penn State in Top 4 But Faces Challenges

Over the years, when Eastern/Central Pennsylvania is producing an elite football prospect, Penn State has shown a strong track record of landing a commitment from that player.

2024 4-star DE Mylachi Williams, 2024 4-star WR Tyseer Denmark, 2024 4-star DB Kenneth Woseley and 2023 OL Jven Williams are just a few of the most recent examples of that.

The Class of 2025 includes an elite lineman from Pennsylvania that Penn State is very much interested in, but it’s going to be a battle to try and get a commitment from him.

4-star offensive tackle Michael Carroll, who attends Central Bucks East High School in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, is rated by Rivals.com as one of the Top 20 tackles and one of the Top 200 overall players in the Class of 2025. On3 gives him an even higher grade ranking him as the No. 2 interior offensive lineman and the nation’s No. 27 overall prospect.

With those sorts of credentials, it’s not surprising the 6’6″, 305-pound Carroll holds numerous offers from top Power Four programs.

Back in April, Carroll released a Top 12 and now, he’s cut his list of schools down from 12 to 4.

When you look at his final four, you’ll see why it’s going to be a battle for Penn State to land him: Penn State, Alabama, Georgia and Michigan.

Georgia: May 31- June 2
Alabama: June 7-9
Penn State: June 14-16
Michigan: June 21-23
