Minnesota Timberwolves: Hollywood Superstar Has Awesome Reaction to Anthony Edwards’ Postseason Success
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

It’s undeniable at this point: the Minnesota Timberwolves have a superstar in Anthony Edwards.

The way the young guard has carried himself throughout the season and the playoffs is one that T’Wolves fans will remember forever. The seven-game epic they’ll be playing against the Dallas Mavericks is one every avid Minnesota fan will watch over the next week or two.

However, fans aren’t the only ones keeping tabs on the young superstar. Many will remember the fantastic Netflix film where Ant-Man starred as a charismatic foil to one of the film’s main characters.

One of Hollywood’s most respected actors shared his love for the 22-year-old and his recent rise to superstardom.

Adam Sandler praises Anthony Edwards for his superb season with the Minnesota Timberwolves

Adam Sandler may be known to many as a funny actor who has recently dropped incredible films, but his most devout fans also know he’s an avid basketball fan. While he doesn’t watch games live that often, he’s a good basketball player whose highlights are all over YouTube.

Sandler recently acted alongside Edwards for the hit Netflix film Hustle, where he played a scout. In the film, Edwards was a blue-chip prospect who served as a barometer for Juancho Hernangomez’s Bo Cruz.

The Spun’s Daniel Bates wrote that Sandler had nothing but great things to say about the Ant-Man during Hustle‘s filming:

“He was just such a funny sweetheart,” Sandler revealed. “And by the way, every pro guy when we were shooting the movie loved him. He’s just got some carefree, cool thing about him and he wants to win and he’s a badass. I love him.”

He also talked about his most recent playoff successes:

“Whenever I go to go out in Italy or England … they know their stuff,” the “Happy Gilmore” actor continued. “And everybody’s starting to talk about Anthony Edwards being a superstar.”

It’s not hard to see why Edwards was getting that kind of attention from people in and around the NBA. He’s averaging an incredible 28.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 1.7 steals on 50.4/39.8/84.3% shooting splits. He’s showing leadership on and off the court, and his carefree attitude makes hi a darling among the press.

There’s nowhere to go but up for Edwards and the Timberwolves, and they hope they can take this season further by taking down Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals.
