Top Philadelphia Flyers forward prospect Samu Tuomaala hasn’t played for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms since April 13 after suffering an injury against the Bridgeport Islanders.
It’s been fun to monitor the emergence of the Philadelphia Flyers this season, but their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms has had some individuals take some big strides.
Lehigh Valley Phantoms forward Samu Tuomaala was named to the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic the team announced last week. Tuomaala is second on the team in scoring with 28 points, 10 goals, and 18 assists, through the first half of the season.
The American Hockey League released their All-Star rosters on Wednesday, and on the Atlantic roster was a prospect Philadelphia Flyers fans ought to learn about – Samu Tuomaala.
Don’t expect to see 20-year-old Philadelphia Flyers prospect Samu Tuomaala at the Wells Fargo Center next season. Maybe not in 2024-25, either. But Tuomaala, a 2021 second-round pick (46th overall) from Finland, will go into training camp coming off a strong Development Camp in July.
